XyWrite provides a collection of template files to help you set up standard documents. These are installed in your document subdirectory, and all of them have the file extension TPL. A template file can contain formats or formats and text. When you create a new document, you can activate one of the templates to give you a head start in formatting the document. Many of the templates include "stop codes" that provide fill-in areas. To stop at each successive code and get a prompt for what to fill in, press Ctrl+Shift+N.

Template files range from simple memo and letter formats to 3-panel and 4-panel brochures. Many of the templates you will be able to use as-is; others you will want to customize and save as your own customized set of TPL files.
